WORLD-CLASS LIGHTING FOR A WORLD-CLASS STEAKHOUSE

Ideoli Group is proud to have provided lighting for one of Canada’s top dining destinations — Jacob’s & Co. Steakhouse — ranked among the Top 100 steakhouses in the world.

Their newest location, inside Toronto’s CIBC Center, features lighting by Ideoli, designed to complement the luxurious finishes and bold ambiance of this world-class venue. From custom fixtures to perfectly balanced lighting throughout the space, our goal was to enhance the guest experience while respecting the restaurant’s iconic reputation.

A special thanks to owners Peter and Gus — true professionals and visionaries in the restaurant world — and a big shout out to Chris for the introductions and ongoing support. These restaurateurs are truly top-notch, and it was an honor to collaborate with them.

I had the pleasure of attending the opening with my wife in Toronto, and it was fantastic to see the results of our team’s efforts in action at such a remarkable space.

These restaurateurs are truly top-notch, and it was an honor to collaborate with them.

ABOUT JACOB’S STEAKHOUSE IN TORONTO

Jacob’s & Co. Steakhouse, founded in 2007, has redefined the fine-dining steak experience in Toronto and quickly become an iconic destination. In 2025, it moved into its stunning new location in CIBC Square (81 Bay St., 4th Floor), offering an elevated atmosphere while staying true to its legacy.

Led by Executive Chef Danny McCallum, the restaurant is celebrated for its dry-aged beef (including up to 60-day and even 210-day aged cuts), tableside Caesar service, and an exceptional wine program hosted in a refined piano lounge setting. With a luxurious yet approachable dining experience—complete with a dry-aging room, private spaces, and bar lounge—it continues to evolve seasonally, showcasing globally sourced ingredients.

Jacob’s & Co. has also earned international praise, consistently ranking among the World's 101 Best Steak Restaurants (#73 in 2024, #76 in 2025), and has been recognized by the MICHELIN Guide since 2022.

WHAT IT TAKES TO BE RANKED TOP 100 STEAKHOUSES IN THE WORLD

Being named one of the Top 100 steakhouses in the world isn’t just about serving a great steak — it’s about delivering an exceptional dining experience at every level.

Restaurants that make this prestigious list typically excel in several key areas:

  1. QUALITY & SOURCING
Only the best cuts of beef make the grade — whether it’s Japanese A5 wagyu, USDA Prime, or expertly dry-aged steaks. Sourcing is global, with chefs building direct relationships with producers.

  2. PREPARATION & EXECUTION
Techniques matter. From the perfect char and crust to the exact internal temperature, precision is everything. Many top steakhouses also use proprietary aging rooms to develop depth of flavor.

  3. AMBIANCE
Lighting, design, and atmosphere all work together to create an unforgettable setting. Guests should feel both comfortable and elevated — a space that matches the meal.

  4. SERVICE
Exceptional service is a must. Knowledgeable staff who understand the menu, wine pairings, and the guest experience are critical to achieving world-class status.

  5. CONSISTENCY
Every visit, every plate — top steakhouses deliver excellence night after night, whether serving locals or global travelers.

It’s an honor for Jacob’s & Co. Steakhouse to be recognized at this level — and at Ideoli Group, we’re proud to play a small role in enhancing the experience through lighting that complements the food, service, and space.

WHY LIGHTING FOR TOP NOTCH RESTAURANTS MATTER

In any world-class restaurant — from a Michelin-starred dining room to a top-100 global steakhouse — lighting is more than just décor. It’s an essential ingredient that shapes the entire guest experience.

Here’s why it matters so much:

  1. SETS THE MOOD
Lighting influences how guests feel the moment they enter — warm, welcoming, elegant, intimate. It helps define the atmosphere the chef and owner want to create.

  2. ELEVATES THE FOOD
The right lighting brings out the natural colors and textures of the dishes. It makes the presentation shine — literally — and enhances the visual appeal of each course.

  3. MAKES PEOPLE LOOK & FEEL GOOD
Well-designed lighting flatters skin tones and creates a comfortable glow — making guests feel their best. This subtle detail can turn a good night out into a truly memorable one.

  4. ENHANCES BRAND IDENTITY
Every detail, from the fixtures to the color temperature, communicates the brand’s personality. Lighting ties together the interior design, architecture, and brand story.

  5. DRIVES BUSINESS
Restaurants with poor lighting risk alienating guests or disrupting the vibe. On the other hand, great lighting keeps people coming back — and encourages them to share the experience (especially in today’s visual-driven social media world).

At Ideoli Group, we understand that lighting for top-notch restaurants is about more than fixtures — it’s about crafting an experience that supports the vision of the owners and chefs. We’re honored every time we help bring that vision to life.
