LIGHTING CONRAD ATHENS THE ILISIAN: AN ATHENS LANDMARK
A proud moment visiting Conrad Athens The Ilisian and seeing some of Ideoli Group’s custom decorative lighting fixtures installed throughout this incredible property.
There is something especially rewarding about walking through a completed project and seeing our team’s contribution in place. At an Athens landmark with this much history, that feeling carries even more meaning.
FROM HILTON ATHENS TO CONRAD ATHENS THE ILISIAN
As Hilton records in its official opening announcement, the original Hilton Athens welcomed guests on 23 April 1963. Exactly 63 years later, on 23 April 2026, the property opened a new chapter as Conrad Athens The Ilisian, marking the Conrad brand’s debut in Greece.
The building’s sculpted marble façades by Greek artist Yannis Moralis remain a defining feature. Hilton describes the landmark as an important example of Greece’s post-war modernist architecture, bringing together international hotel design, Greek materials, and artistic tradition.
That connection continues indoors. Hilton credits AvroKO’s interiors with pairing preserved mid-century elements with contemporary art. For me, it is a reminder that renewing a landmark means understanding its identity as well as imagining its future.
A NEW CHAPTER IN ATHENS HOSPITALITY
Today, the hotel brings together guest rooms and suites, dining, wellness, and cultural experiences at 46 Vasilissis Sofias Avenue. It sits within the wider The Ilisian destination, connecting hospitality with the life of the surrounding city.
That wider setting makes every contribution part of a bigger picture. Architecture, interiors, art, furnishings, and lighting all influence how people experience a property. Seeing our fixtures within that environment is what makes a visit like this so worthwhile.
CUSTOM DECORATIVE LIGHTING AT CONRAD ATHENS
Ideoli’s contribution included custom decorative lighting fixtures installed throughout the property. Working alongside an exceptional construction partner, their design team, and several talented vendors, we helped bring their vision to life.
Decorative lighting contributes through more than illumination. Shape, scale, materials, and the way a fixture sits within a space all matter. In hospitality, I believe the strongest results come when those details support the overall design and the atmosphere guests experience.
Our work here reflects the collaborative approach behind Ideoli’s bespoke lighting services: understanding the project’s vision and working with the people responsible for delivering it. Seeing the finished fixtures in their intended setting brings that effort into focus.
COLLABORATION, CRAFTSMANSHIP, AND TRUST
Projects of this scale take collaboration, craftsmanship, and trust. They depend on teams working toward a shared vision, communicating clearly, and following through on the details.
The finished space is what visitors see. Behind it is the work of construction partners, designers, vendors, and many others whose contributions need to come together. I’m grateful to everyone involved in helping turn this vision into a completed property.
A PROUD MOMENT FOR THE IDEOLI TEAM
We’re grateful to play a part in this landmark destination in Athens. Congratulations to everyone on my team. You are the best in the industry.
For me, the reward is seeing our team’s work become part of a place with a lasting connection to the city. It is a chance to celebrate the people behind the fixtures and the relationships that make projects like this possible.
