KEYNOTE AT THE HELLENIC INITIATIVE'S ACCELERATE GREECE FORUM IN TORONTO
WHY THE NEXT GLOBAL SUCCESS STORY COULD COME FROM GREECE
Innovation has no borders. The companies that think globally from day one will define the next generation of entrepreneurship.
Entrepreneurship has never been confined by geography. Some of the world's most successful companies were built by founders who looked beyond the borders of their home country and embraced opportunities on a global stage. Today, that same opportunity exists for a new generation of Greek entrepreneurs.
That's why I'm incredibly honored to be joining Accelerate Greece 2026 in Toronto as this year's keynote speaker.
Accelerate Greece represents much more than an accelerator program. It is a bridge between Greece's thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem and the North American innovation landscape. By connecting ambitious founders with experienced mentors, investors, strategic partners, and global business leaders, the program is creating opportunities that extend far beyond a single week of workshops and networking.
Throughout my career, I've learned that international business isn't built because you understand market - it's built because you understand people.
Growing up as the son of Greek immigrants in Toronto, I was fortunate to experience two cultures that shaped the way I approach business. My entrepreneurial journey has taken me from Europe to North America and beyond, ultimately leading to the creation of Ideoli Group, a company that now delivers projects across more than 30 countries for some of the world's most recognized brands. Along the way, one lesson has remained constant: relationships open doors that business plans alone never can.
Many entrepreneurs believe that international expansion begins with choosing the right country. I believe it begins with finding the right people. Every market has its own culture, its own way of building trust, and its own business community. Success comes from listening first, understanding local perspectives, and earning the confidence of those who can become your champions.
Programs like Accelerate Greece provide founders with exactly that opportunity. Beyond the workshops on pricing, intellectual property, fundraising, and scaling internationally, participants gain access to something even more valuable: relationships. Whether it's a conversation with a mentor, an introduction to an investor, or a chance encounter with another founder, these connections often become the catalyst for long-term growth.
The partnership with Elevate Festival makes this year's program especially exciting. Founders won't simply learn about scaling a business—they'll immerse themselves in one of Canada's premier innovation events, engage directly with investors from across North America, refine their pitches, and showcase their companies in front of an audience actively looking for the next breakthrough idea. Those experiences can change the trajectory of a business.
As someone who has spent decades building businesses across multiple continents, I'm looking forward to sharing not only the successes, but also the challenges that shaped my journey. Entrepreneurship is rarely a straight line. It demands resilience, adaptability, curiosity, and the willingness to continue moving forward when circumstances don't go according to plan. Some of my greatest business lessons came during moments of uncertainty, and those experiences have proven just as valuable as any milestone we've achieved.
One of the messages I'll be sharing during my keynote is that global businesses aren't built overnight. They're built one relationship at a time. Every meaningful introduction, every trusted partnership, and every conversation rooted in genuine curiosity becomes another brick in the foundation of long-term success.
Greece has always been a country of innovators, thinkers, and builders. Today, a new generation of founders is carrying that legacy forward by developing technologies and businesses capable of competing on the world stage. Programs like Accelerate Greece help transform that potential into reality by providing the mentorship, network, and international perspective needed to accelerate growth.
To the entrepreneurs applying this year, my advice is simple: think bigger than your local market. Don't build a company for your city or even your country. Build a company that solves problems for the world. Stay curious, invest in relationships, remain adaptable, and never underestimate the power of surrounding yourself with people who believe in your vision.
I'm excited to meet this year's cohort in Toronto, hear your stories, learn about your innovations, and hopefully contribute in a meaningful way to your entrepreneurial journey. I have no doubt that among this group of founders are companies that will shape industries, create jobs, attract global investment, and proudly represent Greece on the international stage.
The future of entrepreneurship belongs to founders who are willing to think beyond borders. I can't wait to be part of that conversation at Accelerate Greece 2026.
“The greatest investment we can make in Greece isn’t in buildings or infrastructure—it’s in the entrepreneurs bold enough to build its future.”
I'm honored to join The Hellenic Initiative's Accelerate Greece program as this year's keynote speaker and to share my journey of building businesses, overcoming adversity, and thinking beyond borders with Greece's next generation of entrepreneurs.
