Visiting the Zagorakis Sports Academy in Thessaloniki with my family was one of those moments.
Walking onto the pitch, seeing the academy fully lit by Ideoli’s state-of-the-art LED system, and watching my daughters meet a Greek legend they’ve heard stories about… it felt like things had come full circle.
Because this wasn’t just a tour. It was a connection — between generations, between history and the future, and between a father and his daughters.

Thessaloniki has its own heartbeat — vibrant, energetic, deeply patriotic.
But on this day, the rhythm came from the academy grounds, where young athletes train under the guidance and inspiration of one of Greece’s greatest icons:
Theodoros Zagorakis. European Champion. Greek football legend. A symbol of leadership, resilience, and national pride.
For my daughters — Demi, Viviana, and Evangelia — meeting him wasn’t just a highlight. It was a story they’ll tell for the rest of their lives.

Our goal wasn’t just to brighten fields. It was to brighten futures. Athletes can now train day and night. Coaches can run more advanced sessions. And the academy’s presence — visually and practically — stands out as a benchmark for sports facilities across Greece.
